Strategy selection and implementation
Optimization of an online mirror store in the Moscow region is not an easy task and therefore more interesting for us. What exactly and in what sequence we would do was decided at briefings together with the client.
Negotiations took some time, so the first results appeared later than we had planned. We received an offer to promote the site in early October, but the active phase of SEO began only in November 2020.
It was decided to carry out the initial work on SEO on a site that was closed from indexing, and only after their completion to allow Google and Yandex to index the store.

- Extension of the semantic core (it was compiled by another company).
- Creation of additional sections, thereby increasing the number of important landing pages.
- Carrying out text optimization of important store pages (main, sections, subcategories).
- Since the store is a monobrand, it was decided not to include the name in the meta tags in order to increase the coverage of search queries.
- Optimization of robots.txt, .htaccess, sitemap.xml files.
The second month on the SEO front was more productive and we managed to do a lot:
- prepared new unique content for the site equipped with Question-Answer (FAQ) markup blocks;
- implemented micro-markup Image (pictures), which allowed images of product cards to be displayed in the snippet;
- improved performance, site loading speed according to Google Pagespeed;
- improved the speed of indexing new pages and re-bypassing old ones;
- supplemented individual cards of the most popular products with unique descriptions;
- developed a usability change plan to improve behavioral factors;
- opened the indexing of the site and after a few days received the first visitors.
To successfully open a store on the Internet, you need to develop an individual strategy. It does not matter which CMS you want for your site, WordPress or Bitrix, the main thing is a competent approach and, of course, delegation of complex technical tasks to professionals.
The result
The PatterHome project showed a good result in just 2 months and is now safely bringing money to our client. SEO costs have already paid off several times. We are pleased to share our success on the main indicators:
- The number of search queries has increased from 0 to 1229:
- The average position decreased from 100+ to 35. The site began to appear much higher in search engines. More than 30 phrases ranked in the top 10 (see the figure below).
- Traffic has grown from 0 to 224. And it will only grow, because the effect of promoting content is noticeable after a few months gradually:
In order to get ahead of competitors and achieve the same results in 2021 when starting an online store from scratch, you need to go through several stages:
- develop a common business development strategy;
- have a well-thought-out site structure;
- build a semantic core that covers all «your» requests;
- leave filling to experts;
- help from programmers, delegate important technical tasks, your site should work perfectly and as quickly as possible in any browsers and on any devices;
- do not spare resources for the comprehensive promotion of your business, use modern methods of growth;
- do not rush to open the «doors», carefully prepare your store for visitors.

Is it possible to launch a ready-made service similar to Patterhome in a day from scratch?
A high-quality, well-thought-out online store that will not only look attractive, but also work stably, perform the required functions, and respond to all customer requests, requires a careful approach. This takes time, urgency here can only do harm. Even if everything is done as quickly as possible, shortcomings and errors will subsequently emerge, which will entail improvements and a decrease in the overall business efficiency. It’s better to do well right away than to finish a poorly implemented project for months.
The first customers in the store will appear after a couple of weeks, in the most favorable conditions this can happen in a few days. It all depends on the budget and the method of implementing the strategy.
